Executive chef and partner, Chris Lewnes, a New Jersey native, developed a lasting passion for Italian American cuisine. He studied at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City and built his culinary expertise in several prestigious kitchens, including Michelin-starred Bâtard, Augustine at the Beacon Hotel, and served as the opening Executive Chef at Sartiano’s in The Mercer Hotel, where he led the kitchen for three years. At Trattoria Ritrovo, Lewnes draws on his French techniques and Italian American heritage, highlighting Wilmington’s exceptional local seafood to craft dishes that are both comforting and distinct.
